it's time to celebrate!!

Right after he arrived to this world, Ben was diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia or a mild problem with formation of the hip joint.  As he was a breech baby and as his legs were in a funny position when he was inside my tummy, the ball of the right hip joint was not securely positioned in the socket of the joint.  The treatment for this is to wear a Pavlik harness in order to hold his hip in proper position for it to form normally.

He had to wear this evil-looking harness for 7 weeks.  In the first week, it was 24/7.  Then he was allowed to have harness-free time for 1 hour everyday.  We always spent this golden hour on photo and tummy time.

Today..the ultrasound confirmed that his right hip joint has formed normally.  It means "Bye bye, nasty harness."
