little being

Hi sweetie

it's been 18 weeks already.  you are no longer our little pea.  you've grown so much and look like a person now.  we had a little peek at you on 26 november 2008 when you were 17 weeks and 4 days to be exact.  you were so cute and very bouncy.  your little legs and arms were moving all the time.  we tried to see if we could get you some girly stuff or manly one, but you were a bit shy and not quite cooperative.  but that's alright, darling.  seeing that you are healthy really makes us feel at ease and happy.  i think i start feeling flutters inside of me now, but i am not quite sure. can't wait for them to be more pronounced. make yourself known...kick me harder, sweetie.

last saturday, we went to see Shooglenifty, daddy's favorite scottish band.  it was great fun, but a bit too loud.  while in the hall, i felt some sort of peculiar vibration inside my tummy.  your dad felt it too and tried to cover my tummy with his jacket, but it didn't help.  i had to leave the hall, then the vibration started to wear off.  was it you, honey?  you didn't like it, did you?  we are sorry.  no more loud music for you.

your dad always puts his hands on my tummy hoping to feel your movements.  do him a favor next time.  kick him hard.  make him know that you are happy in mummy's tummy.  the other night, he tried putting a glass on my tummy and listening to your heartbeats from the bottom of it.  but my tummy is not like a solid piece of wood.  daddy's experiment didn't quite succeed.  we're thinking about getting one of those proper stethoscopes.  hope we could hear you better.

love,
mom and dad
